i have a rc 2.5" lift with 31s. after it was all said and done my jeep is sitting about 2.75-3 inches taller. so my dillemma is that i would like to get an inch bl and keep the 31s. I dont want it to look dumb and i dont want to buy bigger tires so does anyone have a setup like this or similiar?

First off, are we talking YJ, TJ, CJ, or JK? There is a big difference between them as to what tires fit... Now, on my YJ, I used to run a 4" lift with 31's (this is while I was getting the 33's), and this is how it looked like: So, if you say you got 3" worth of suspension lift, and you plan to put 1" BL, it would look similar to that. Of course, personally, I would not put the 1" BL, as (assuming yours is a YJ!) 2.5" of lift is enough to clear 31's. By the way, I like the look better with 33's for 4" of lift... Here is how that looks (this is the "now" look):

i have the same set up you have and every day it seems my 31s are looking smaller and smaller. The 2.5" was designed for 32s. I think if you go higher and keep the 31s it may start to look like the jeep is on skateboard wheels. Im actually looking to increase to 33s and go up to the RC 3.25 kit but ive seen pics of jeeps with the 2.5" kit with 33s and they dont look bad at all. It really comes down to personal taste though.

Most likely, you will, but you can do without (just expect some bumpsteer).

Look at my build thread if it is a TJ...I went right to 31's with zero lift and no issues.
Now running 35's on 4" of lift but with flat fenders.
You do NOT need a drop pitman...I put it on with my first lift (3") and took it right off.

I also put a dropped pitman arm and took it off when I intalled the JKS Telescopic Trackbar (to keep the angles parallel).

i appreciate the help so far, i guess i should specify my jeep a little better i have 31's already on my 2.5" lift. I was just curious what it would look like with another inch of lift on it. I dont really want to regear to go to 33's just yet i have two sets of 31's that are almost new so im not really going to get 33's in the near future.

In that case, I recommend keeping it with 2.5" of lift...

ok so since im not happy with keeping it the way it is i found a friend who will buy my 31s this summer. Now that gives me the go ahead to add on another inch but my new dilemma is 32's or 33's. I would like to get 32's so i wont need a regear but would this look ok? or does the extra .5 inch from the 33's really make that much of a difference. I do plan on regearing eventually to 4.88s but not the same time i get new tires bc of cost factor.

It will look great with either 32s or 33s and it will run better without a regear with the 32s.

Im very happy with its ability to cruise along doign 60-65 on highway with the 31s. i live in western pa so there are decent hills that i can still pull half decent. I have no problem with being slow on the highway im in no hurry to get anywhere. i have been reading thru some searches that the 33s will really make it a dog with 4.10s and i cant see how going up on size to 32s is going to kill its driveability that much. Does anyone have pics of 3-3.5" lift on 32's?
sorry i seem to be asking alot of questions but i like to bounce ideas around and get as many oppinions as possible before making a major change on the jeep.

If you have a 5 speed tranny the worst that can happen is that it will be slow off the line, you won't use all your gears, and you will have to shift at a higher rpm. But if this is ok for you, go for it.
Example: I run 33s with 4.56 axle gears and cruise at 55 mph in 4th gear. The secondary roads I drive on here in Mexico are not really made for higher speeds (we often drive to trailheads at about 50 mph) so I never use 5th anymore.

Does anyone have pics of 3-3.5" lift on 32's? Do you really think it will look any different than the pic of my Jeep above on 31's??
